Character Name: Fabian Prewett - sometimes called "Fay," but generally just if you have a death wish. Unless you're Gideon.

Personality and History:

Fabian Mackenna Prewett was born on 14 June 1958, a few minutes before twin brother, Gideon, the both of them the youngest members of their family, one of the older Wizarding lines in Britain. Their other siblings were all much older, living their lives while the twins were still both in school. Their older sister, Molly, graduated when the boys were in their third year and soon after married Arthur Weasley, making a life for herself and already having a son.

The Prewett family made their home in Leeds, where the boys were home schooled by their mother all through their Primary school days until getting accepted into Hogwarts. They displayed signs of magic at an early age, getting themselves into trouble and then sitting downstairs in the den, even though they SHOULD have been locked in their room. Once they turned eleven, their mother could not wait to send them off, as Fabian constantly questioned what she taught them during the day and Gideon continually needed a slap on his wrist to get him to pay attention to the lesson. There weren't many other children around where they lived (out by themselves in a remote, Unplottable area) so Gideon and Fabian were always close.

Once they arrived at Hogwarts, the both of them were sorted into Gryffindor like most of their family, and settled in the Gryffindor common room, Gideon relaxing by the fire and Fabian cracking open his brand new textbooks and excitedly flipping through the pages. Since then, they've felt right at home.

Fabian Prewett is the more serious student of the two brothers. Gifted with a certain knack for school, Fabian could probably get by without really studying. However, unlike his brother, he is driven to succeed. He puts a great deal of pressure on himself, with aspirations of becoming an auror after graduation. Fabian is especially skilled in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms and Transfiguration, but seeks out help in those areas in which he is less naturally skilled. His grades reflect his efforts, with his marks rivalling those of many of the smarter Ravenclaws. As studious as he is, he's generally eager to help others with their homework related issues, believing that explaining a concept to someone else really does further your understanding of it. His schedule is also full of challenging courses, but unlike his brother, Fabian stresses himself out over them, pouring over textbooks often into the wee hours of the morning trying to absorb just a little bit more information.

To keep his mind in proper working order during his free time, Fabian does a great deal of reading, especially in books that are considered to be classics or new classics. What tends to surprise people about Fabian, however, is that he's absolutely phenomenal at billiards. Someone once explained the physics of the game to him, and he's since become especially skilled at the game. He's also very good at poker: his ability to read people coupled with his understanding of probability make him a worthy opponent to most ammateur players.

Fabian is much quieter than his loud, outspoken brother. Rather than speaking what's on his mind in a given situation, he takes the time to read people and to learn what really makes an individual tick. When he does speak, he's very well-spoken, choosing his words carefully. He has a good sense of humor, especially enjoying jokes with a bit of thought behind them, but he tends to take himself entirely too seriously, a habit which his brother tries ceaselessly to correct. He's considerably shyer than Gideon, as well. His idea of shameless flirting is giving a girl a lopsided grin, and then not turning flourescant pink when she looks your way. He hasn't had many girlfriends for this reason, but he's happy without all the complications of a relationship. After all, he'd reatlly rather just hang out with Gideon and make a bit of mischief.
